Onira's mission is to support original, thought-provoking artistic voices that are able to go at the heart of our human experience. We put our efforts in creating independent films that interrogate contemporary social issues - economic structures, political failures, and all those forces that shape and constrain human life. We believe in films that demand reflection on our role in the world we've built.

Meet The Team
Rodolfo L. Masedari
Rodolfo L. Masedari is an Italian director, screenwriter and producer. With a multicultural experience living across Europe, US and North Africa, his work explores alienation, social issues and critiques of capitalism. His films have been screened and won prizes in major international festivals, such as Tribeca, Clermont-Ferrand, and Venice International Critics’ Week.
Since 2021 Rodolfo is the co-founder of the production company Onira, focusing on thought-provoking and socially engaged voices with a cross-cultural perspective. Through Onira he produced the VR documentary “Nexus” (Venice Biennale College VR, UN COP26), the short film “Playing God” (FEDIC Prize at Venice International Critics’ Week, Best Animated Short at Tribeca and Nastri d’Argento), and the feature documentary “Like Heaven without God” (IDFA DocLab, WEMW).
He is a fellow of Venice Biennale College, CannesXR, IDFA DocLab and TorinoFilmLab.
In addition to his work as a filmmaker, Rodolfo works as a sustainability and environmental advisor.
Filippo Schiaffino
Filippo Schiaffino is an Italian film producer with extensive experience in international co-productions and physical production. He has worked as Production Executive at Piano Films (co-producer of Ruben Östlund's "Triangle of Sadness") and Groenlandia Film, where he oversaw over 30 films and TV series, collaborating with major international platforms like Netflix, Amazon, and Sky. As an Executive Producer, Filippo has worked on several independent films, such as "The Hanging Sun" (Venice Film Festival 2022) and "El Paraíso" (Venice Orizzonti 2023). Since 2021, he is co-founder of Onira, a production company exploring contemporary social issues through independent cinema
