LOGLINE

Alone in a quiet retreat in Park City, Utah, a writer’s creative process begins to take physical form as figures inspired by his imagination emerge around him, turning solitude into a shared act of creation.

SYNOPSIS

The Closing Credits is a short film that explores the mind of a storyteller through fashion. A writer is isolated in a quiet retreat in Park City, Utah, surrounded by open land and snowy mountain peaks. He is left to face the weight of solitude and the pull of creation. As he drifts deeper into his work, the boundary between thought and form dissolves, and characters born on the page step into the world, each coming to life through a uniquely crafted look from Mason’s collection. Their presence reshapes his isolation into a living narrative.

THE COLLECTION

Closing Credits follows the senior thesis of designer Mason McKenna, a Fall/Winter menswear collection handcrafted across five complete looks, developed during her final year at the Savannah College of Art and Design. As her studies come to a close, the project returns to the place that first shaped her creative perspective: the mountain landscapes of Park City.

Living in Park City since 2020, Mason describes the environment as a place defined by space, solitude, and reflection—an atmosphere that encourages stepping away from daily noise and becoming more intentional in the creative process. Surrounded by the creative energy of American independent cinema through the Sundance Film Festival and the work fostered by the Sundance Institute, she began framing that idea through the narrative of a screenwriter developing a story in isolation.

Grounded in classic menswear staples, the collection balances casual and elevated elements through relaxed proportions and material choice. Oversized silhouettes subtly reference ski culture, while fabrics such as denim, wool meltons, flannel, and leather detailing reflect the textures and practicality of the mountain environment.

MORE ABOUT THIS PROJECT

Our crew, based in Savannah, will travel to Park City to film the project in the landscape that inspired it. Approaching fashion through narrative film, the story follows a writer working in solitude in the mountains as he searches for direction in his work.

The film moves between moments that feel dreamlike and poetic, while remaining grounded in quiet reflections of reality. As the writer develops his story, the characters he imagines begin to take shape through their clothing—each one reflecting a different part of his inner world. Through this process, the film explores how fashion can help build character, atmosphere, and perspective within a cinematic space.

Meet The Filmmakers

  • Grace Aubele

    Grace Aubele

    Producer

Grace Aubele is from Baltimore, Maryland. She is in her second year studying at the Savannah College of Art and Design. She coordinates SCAD’s 11 Acre film studio while bringing creative minds together as a producer. She is drawn to fashion film because it allows her to enter the mind of a designer and place the audience inside the world their style belongs in. Fashion is a visualized identity; film adds narrative, emotion, and atmosphere. When combined, they create immersive environments that highlight different cultures and perspectives. Travel deepens that process. Being in new locations provides context — it reveals where creative voices originate. When you step into a new place, you capture the honesty of its people, landscape, and community. That authenticity shapes the story in a way nothing else can.
