MORE ABOUT THIS PROJECT

Pledged is a gripping short film that confronts the pressures of loyalty, power, and silence within male-dominated institutions. Set over the course of a single night, the story follows a group of young men forced to reckon with the consequences of tradition and complicity.

Grounded, tense, and character-driven, Pledged prioritizes emotional realism over spectacle, inviting audiences to sit with discomfort rather than look away. The film aims to spark conversation around accountability and the systems we uphold intentionally or not.

With your support, Pledged will be brought to life by a passionate creative team committed to telling bold, socially resonant stories with care and integrity. Donations directly support production, post-production, and festival distribution, helping ensure this story reaches audiences who need to see it.

Meet The Filmmakers

  • Sean Alan Mazur

    Writer and Producer

Sean Alan Mazur is a versatile performer and filmmaker whose work is driven by character, identity, and emotional truth. He began his career while serving in the United States Air Force, an experience that grounded his discipline and perspective, before graduating from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Since then, Mazur has built a career across stage and screen demonstrating range and vulnerability.

As a writer, Mazur gravitates toward intimate, character-forward storytelling that explores power, belonging, and pressure-filled environments. His scripts balance humor with discomfort, often placing flawed but deeply human characters inside systems that claim inclusivity while reinforcing hierarchy. Pledged specifically reflects this voice: a story about loyalty, masculinity, and institutional pressure.

Outside of filmmaking, Mazur enjoys reading and making music. He plans to head a production company that welcomes stories that highlight marginalized and underrepresented communities.

  • Alan Trinca

    Director and Producer

Alan Trinca began his career in the industry with a sole focus on acting, dedicating himself to the craft. He has starred in five off-Broadway plays and musicals (Friends The Musical, MsTrial, Love’s Labour’s Lost), appeared in a multitude of national commercials (Geico, Acura, Cuisinart), and has been cast in network and cable TV shows (Bull, 6 Degrees of Murder). His voiceover work includes animation and video games such as Jurassic World: Chaos Theory, Transformers: Rescue Bots Academy, and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.

Alan eventually ventured into writing sketch comedy for video, discovering a passion for the production process. He has since teamed up with like-minded and motivated filmmakers to create work that inspires, provokes, affects change, or simply makes people laugh — something he believes the world needs more of. Alan has written, produced, and/or directed 20 short films, web series episodes and music videos, earning awards as a writer/producer for short films like THAT OLD BLACK MAGIC, PRECURSOR and FRAGILE.

Alan was a 2024 recipient of a grant from the Russo Brothers’ Italian American Filmmaker Forum. He believes that optimism and positivity will eventually overcome negativity and nihilism, a perspective that is often reflected in his work.

  • Hannah Bialous
