SYNOPSIS

The life of DAIVI, a Venezuelan kidnapper, takes an unexpected turn when KHALED, a retired soldier and father of his latest victim, kidnaps WILLY, Daivi’s own son.

Now, the kidnapper becomes a desperate father, racing across the city against the clock to make a CHILD FOR CHILD exchange. But the plan proves far more complicated than it seems. SOFÍA, the hostage, will manipulate him. E

DINSON, his partner and best friend, will betray him. And CACIQUE, his ruthless boss, will set a deadly plan in motion to keep the hostage for himself.

Daivi will grow as a man by facing the pain he has caused others—an awakening that will ultimately allow him to rescue his son when he makes the ultimate sacrifice: giving up his own life.?

DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT ABOUT THE PROJECT

When I was 18 years old, I was almost kidnapped in my hometown of Caracas, Venezuela. I was studying business, dreaming of becoming a filmmaker, when one night, an SUV blocked my path while driving. I knew what this meant. A man in the passenger seat confirmed it by flashing a 9mm. Terrified, I slammed the gas, weaving through narrow roads until I reached a police station. Luckily, I got away.

Unlike many friends and family members, I survived what could have been a nightmare. The kidnappers wouldn’t have cared about my name, my dreams, or where I was going. To them, I would have been nothing more than a paycheck, another faceless victim whose parents would be extorted for ransom.

Latin America has been consumed by violence. Some kidnappers claim poverty forced them into crime, but whatever their excuses, each man makes a choice—again and again—to abduct innocent people. That raises a question I often asked myself while growing up: what if a kidnapper was forced to feel the pain he caused? Would he stop? Could he change? Could redemption exist even in that darkness?

These questions drive me as a filmmaker. I want to place audiences inside the minds of both hostage and captor—living, breathing, complex characters. I want them to feel what they feel, to experience both terror and empathy, and to reflect on their own choices. Amid the violence, I hope to reveal something deeper: love, flaws, and the human condition itself.
