OVERVIEW
Direction for Camera (DFC) is a next-generation filmmaking community dedicated to empowering underrepresented filmmakers, particularly from Bangladesh and similar regions, to bring their stories to the global stage. We provide hands-on mentorship, industry networking, and creative resources to help filmmakers develop their craft, collaborate on projects, and gain international visibility. At DFC, we believe diverse voices shape the future of cinema—join us to learn, create, and inspire.
DFC is more than an educational program—it’s a movement. Backed by S2S Productions LA LLC, we are bridging Bangladesh with the global film industry by empowering the next generation of Bangladeshi filmmakers. Our mission is to create meaningful opportunities for underrepresented storytellers to be seen, heard, and celebrated worldwide.
Through hands-on labs and workshops, we equip creators with practical skills, industry knowledge, and safer, more collaborative sets. Our Film Challenge fuels year-round creativity, offering mentorship, resources, and the chance for Bangladeshi stories to achieve international recognition and Hollywood distribution.
Beyond training, we’re building a thriving creative community—from networking events and long-term vendor partnerships, to our DFC Podcast, which delivers unfiltered, technical insights from working professionals. Our blogs and newsletters further amplify voices, sharing tips, trends, and inspiration from the heart of our movement.
At DFC, we don’t just teach filmmaking—we cultivate careers, spark revolutions in storytelling, and ensure that Bangladeshi cinema shines on the world stage.
OUR MISSION
To empower underrepresented and emerging Bangladeshi filmmakers and actors, DFC provides comprehensive film industry education, skill development, and community- building opportunities. This initiative aims to foster a creative community that enhances professional networks and opens pathways into the global film industry—ensuring that Bangladesh’s next generation of storytellers can thrive on both local and international stages.
OUR VISION
To cultivate a vibrant film industry in Bangladesh where creativity, diversity, and individuality are celebrated, we aim to empower Bangladeshi filmmakers and actors by recognizing their unique voices and storytelling styles. Our vision includes a future where the creative community in Bangladesh can access equal opportunities, engage in international collaborations, and obtain the necessary resources to compete in the global market. By fostering a supportive network, promoting collaboration, and emphasizing film industry education, we will help shape a new era of filmmaking in Bangladesh—one that is deeply rooted in cultural identity yet open to global innovation.
