SYNOPSIS
Commandments of a Female Hustler is a gritty, character-driven urban crime drama set in Baltimore, Maryland, following a determined woman who refuses to let her circumstances dictate her future. Driven by ambition, survival, and the desire to create a better life, she enters a dangerous world where money and power come with consequences.
As her influence grows, so do the threats surrounding her. Friendships are tested, relationships become complicated, and loyalty can no longer be taken for granted. She quickly learns that building an empire is only half the battle—protecting it may require sacrifices she never imagined making.
Blending drama, suspense, romance, and the realities of street life, Commandments of a Female Hustler explores ambition, betrayal, loyalty, family, and the difficult choices people make when survival and success collide. At its heart, the story is about a woman determined to take control of her destiny while discovering that every commandment of the hustle carries a price.
MORE ABOUT THE PROJECT
Commandments of a Female Hustler follows Lala, Binky, and Jay, three women who have been inseparable since childhood and raised in the heart of Baltimore. Bound by loyalty and a shared desire to escape poverty, they learn to use their intelligence, influence, and street knowledge to survive and gain power in a world dominated by men and the drug trade. What begins as a united hustle slowly turns into competition, jealousy, and betrayal as ambition and personal desires pull them in different directions.
As relationships fracture and secrets surface, each woman must face the consequences of her choices. Love, incarceration, motherhood, and survival collide as they navigate dangerous alliances and shifting loyalties. Season 2 deepens the emotional and moral stakes, showing how past decisions continue to shape their futures. The series explores what happens when loyalty is tested, power is misused, and the “commandments” they once lived by no longer protect them.
Commandments of a Female Hustler explores loyalty, power, and survival through the lens of women navigating Baltimore’s underground economy. The series centers on how ambition, betrayal, love, and consequence shape identity and relationships when success is built in dangerous spaces. It examines female resilience, moral conflict, and the cost of choices in environments driven by scarcity and control, while challenging traditional portrayals of women in urban crime dramas by placing them at the center of authority, strategy, and transformation.
